Copy Cat...

My friend Megan has a running list of confessions on her blog.

They make me feel like I'm an insider on all her personal secrets. Even though, you know, other people read her blog, too.

To get to the point, who am I to deprive the 3 people who read this blog of MY confessions?!

Here it goes:

-I confess, that recently I have had absolutely no motivation to clean our living quarters. None. The only reason I cleaned today was because I didn't go for a run and needed something to do.

-We may or may not have just had pumpkin pancakes for dinner...and by 'may or may not' I mean we definitely did.

-Sometimes I feel like giving myself the Mother-of-the-Year award because sometimes Finn has Easy Mac for dinner, he's past the 12 month mark and still has a bottle and sometimes he still sleeps in our bed for a couple of hours because I'm too lazy to actually rock him back to sleep in his room...

-Speaking of Finn, I confess that while he's started sleeping about 13 hours a night (!) I don't know if he should. Am I teaching him to sleep in like a lazy teenager at such a young age? Is it natural for him to do this? Is he really awake sooner and I'm just oblivious to it?!

-I confess I never thought I'd see the day when I worried my kid was sleeping too much.

-I teach 5 and 6 year olds at church for 2 hours every Sunday...and I secretly really enjoy it.

-I confess that these 5 and 6 year olds will be singing in front of a large crowd in 2 weeks and I will be up there not knowing the words to the songs that they know by heart.

-I don't have a cough any more but I'm still taking cough drops because they taste like candy...and to prevent the cough from coming back...yeah.

-I'm really excited to take family pictures soon.

-And last but not least, I confess that I have put Finnegans Wake aside for the moment in lieu of Journey to the Center of the Earth. Nothing wrong with an easy read to prep you for a hard read, right?

The Birthday...It Happened...

And it was spectacular...as birthdays should be. Seeing as my actual birthday fell on a Sunday I made up for it by partying from Friday to ummm...Monday. I'm telling you, I can't stop once I start. Oh, and by 'partying' I mean eating junk food...

Is there any other way to celebrate once you get past like, 16 or something besides pigging out? Nope. Didn't think so.

Let me elaborate on this junk food that I speak of...as his actual present for me, Nick brought home TWO pumpkin pies, a gallon of mint chocolate chip ice cream, and the biggest tube of chocolate chip cookie dough you've ever seen...no joke, you could throw it at someone and kill them. And then Luke and I had pizza and wings for dinner.

This post is getting a bit food-heavy isn't it (could have something to do with the fact that I'm a bit food heavy at them moment...sigh)? But really, besides Luke and Finn my life revolves around finding something delicious to eat.

Luke, being the voice of reason that he is, forwent an edible present and bought Finnegan's Wake for me (go on to Amazon, try reading the first page. I dare you). Since I've basically chugged my way through Ulysses, so I figured I'd keep up James Joyce-ing while I can.

And now it's Tuesday and I'm detoxing. Birthday weekend = complete.

I'm a blogging sinner and didn't take any pictures but this is basically what it looked like:
