A Few Things...

And by a 'few' I mean 5...

1. We made it back from Ireland alive. But only barely. We travelled for a total of 22 hours...14 of those on a plane in a 2ft x 2ft space with a crazy baby on my lap. And then on our way home we got pulled over at 1145pm because our tail light was out. Thanks officer, thanks a damn. Jeez.

2. Jet lag has made Finn really hyper at about 3am. I am not so hyper but I get up anyways because I'm an awesome mom like that. Or something.

3. It's my birthday next Sunday! It's Nick's birthday, too but as a twin I reserve the right to sometimes say it's 'my' birthday instead of 'our' birthday. Best day of the year, basically. If I do say so myself. Which I do. I'm going to make so many chocolate chip cookies that the whole kitchen will be filled and I will eat them all because Luke is allergic to chocolate.

4. Finn copies everything we do, so now he can blow kisses, stick out his tongue and all that cutesy shmootsey stuff that old ladies can't get enough of.

5. That's it. Thanks for tuning in!

Day Five (?)...

I have no idea how long we've been in this place. We must be really busy or the fact that the weather is the same all the time which makes it hard to tell which day is which.

But today being Saturday (see, I at least know what day it is), all of my uncles and cousins came over to eat food and meet Finn...not necessarily in that order.

For some back story: Me and Nick are the oldest grandchildren by like 10 years. Therefore all my cousins are a lot younger than us. Therefore my aunts and uncles all feel old because they are now officially 'great' or 'grand' aunts and uncles. And finally, therefore, Finn loves it because he finally had some younger kids to play with. Namely, the youngest one Mella Honey (real name :)) who is two. They hit it off as BFFs right away and I think he might have had a crush on her even though I tried to explain that they are distantly related. Kids these days...they'll fall for anyone :)

And here are pictures to prove it:

More cousins, some whose names you won't be able to pronounce...besides Sam.

For Your Browsing...

Day 3...important things to note: Finn seems to have developed a back molar in the last couple of weeks which we didn't find until now because, ummm, who gets a molar before getting the rest of his front teeth? This kid has the most random dental developments ever. Also, it is cold a windy here, something he seems to really enjoy. And last but not least, he's growing an awesome mullet that will either have to be cut or the rest of his hair needs to catch up with that party in the back....like, soon.

Like the mullet? :)

My cousins, Finn's second cousins?

Chickens!

And there concludes day 3!

We Did It!

We made it to Ireland, in one piece, and I didn't even have a meltdown. Neither did Finn. Phew.

In fact, thank you to overnight flights, Finn slept a total of 8 out of the 11 hours we were on planes. I slept 20 minutes. Which means we've both been napping a bit since we got here.

It has been fantastic here though...they have the most glorious white, crusty bread and butter and candy and scones and cookies and sandwhiches.

Food aside, its still pretty good.

Thankfully it is cold enough that Finn can wear most of his killer cute winter clothes, too. With all of this in mind we might just stay here...

Just kidding! I miss my Luke...and my bed.

And since we've only stayed at the house/backyard since we got here, that's about it as far as our excellent adventure goes so far. Like, besides food and sleeping which everybody loves/is interested in, right?
