It's a...

GIRL!!!

Say whaaaaa??? I was totally feeling 'boy' going into the ultrasound yesterday, but it's a chica! I'm over-the-moon happy about it, even if it took a couple of minutes to sink in. I mean, I have one sibling...a brother...Luke has 5 siblings...all brothers....I have a son...what I'm getting at is I know boys, I get boys. Boys seem easy, less drama-rama. Simple.

But a girl! *Sigh of joy* I'm so very happy about it. Luke is too, if not a little intimidated at the thought, bless his heart.

I'm so excited for Finn to have a little sister to look after and play with. It makes my heart all melty just thinking about.

The only implications I can see regarding this female addition to the family is that I don't have an excuse not go out and buy cutesy clothes. However, I have promised to restrain myself.

I'm saving for a double BOB revolution, so that helps the motivation. Yeah, double strollers...bring it on.

As far as the ultrasound went, we didn't get any super cute 'pictures' if you will...she (she!) was being stubborn and kept her head turned away, but we saw the legs and arms and other various body parts that we ooohed and aaawed over. In any case, we don't have any pictures scanned into the computer to post sooooo...sorry 'bout that.

No pictures? Yeah, blogging fail, I know...all you get is something cheesy like this:

Mullet Revisited...Revisited...

...'cause baby boy got his first real haircut! (see previous post for long-hair lamentations)

Cute? Yes? Yes.

There was no way I was going to tackle that sucker (the mullet and surrounding straggly-ness) on my own so I took Finn in to the barber and walked out covered in hair (he would only sit still if he was on my lap sans cape)...it looked like I had just walked out of a dog grooming competition. Seriously.

I wish I could have taken pictures as it seems like a momentous occasion, doesn't it? But holding him down WWE style and being on my lonesome made the task impossible.

He was awesome once he realized there was really sharp objects flying around his head.

Until they turned on the clippers. Some desensitization may be necessary lest he lose an ear next time...

Mullet Revisited...

Updates! Get yer updates!

Too cheesy? Agreed.

I'm sure you can guess what is going on around the Rebarchik household...as always...not a lot.

BUT I've reached the 20 week mark in this pregnancy business, thereby launching me not-so-gracefully into the 2nd half. Baby McBaberson seems to be doing fine and dandy down in his/her lil' cocoon. I get lots of nice bumps and flips and jabs which are always fun, especially since now I'm starting to see them.

Ah, to be inhabited by an alien...good times.

As far as size goes I'm not huge yet but to put it in perspective, I saw my reflection as I was running on the treadmill this morning and had a nice, hearty, chuckle at myself. Which is always a good way to start the day. It just looked silly.

Finn is also doing great and looking silly (like mother like son). He needs a haircut bad. Real bad. That mullet I trimmed 4 or 5 months ago grew back with a vengance. Longer, thicker, mullet-ier than ever. And the rest of his head is following suit in its unruliness.

Other than the mullet, though, he's a total champ. He's talking (in his own language...beats the hell out of me what he's saying most of the time), running, jumping/falling off the couch for his own amusement at regular intervals, climbing on top of the toilet, sticking his hand in cupcakes when I accidentally leave the fridge open.......you know, boy stuff.

But I swear he has a softer side...he loves putting his forehead on your mouth (maybe not your mouth) so that he gets a kiss. And he shares his food no matter how long it was in his mouth beforehand. Sweet, ain't it? And sometimes, if he's just pooped himself right out, he'll snuggle with you on the couch for as long as he can hold still. Not long, still cute.

I swear I fall more in love with that kid everyday...which is something I have to remind myself when we're both having bad days and I'd rather give him to the wolves to be raised Mowgli style. It happens.

He doesn't look happy...but he is. Promise.

Bam! 20 weeks...done.
